As ITV’s ‘Victoria’ has been filmed exclusively in the White Rose county of Yorkshire, it makes perfect sense for this York-based on location experience to start with a non-stop flight into the northern gateway of Manchester. Tour highlights include:
- A special guided walking tour of York that concludes with Choral Evensong in York Minster
- A Gaslight and Riots tour of Castle Howard which was also the location for the filming of Brideshead Revisited
- Privately owned Newby Hall, famous for its award-winning gardens where you’ll be spell-bound by the Dollshouses Collection and Giles Brandreth’s Teddy Bear Collection
- A special tour of Beverly Minster, used for the Westminster Abbey Royal Wedding scenes
- English Afternoon Tea at privately owned Carlton Towers which doubled as Windsor castle
- An upstairs/downstairs tour of Harewood House
- A tour of Ely Cathedral which doubled as Westminster Abbey in The Crown
- A River Thames cruise to Greenwich to discover many roles played by the Old Naval College and the stylish Art Deco Eltham Palace in the Crown
- A visit to Kensington Palace, Queen Victoria’s childhood home where there’s also a special exhibition on Princess Diana
For August and September departures visits to Buckingham Palace will be included.
