This 3 night programme starts from Southampton and takes in the great cathedrals of Winchester and Chichester, the magnificence of Arundel Castle and Brighton’s exotically beautiful Royal Pavilion and the stunning gardens at Pashley Manor and Sissinghurst Castle.  On 3 occasions, heritage trains will take the strain out of traveling with some steam hauled nostalgia.  The itinerary works well in reverse and highlights include:

  • A visit to the magnificent Winchester Cathedral, home to the ancient Winchester Bible and Jane Austen’s final resting place
  • A stroll in the amazing Collector Earl’s Garden at 11th century Arundel Castle
  • An hour or two at the privately owned, award winning Pashley Manor
  • A fragrant and colour filled visit to the superb gardens at Sissinghurst Castle
  • Steam hauled nostalgia on the Watercress, Bluebell and East Kent heritage railways
  • Tudor romance at the 13th century, moated Hever Castle
