A Morbid Taste for Bones

A Morbid Taste for Bones

Among your anglophile clients, mention of the name ‘Cadfael’ will immediately get their attention.  They will either be a fan of Ellis Peter’s fictional character or they will have seen Derek Jacobi playing the role on PBS.  Invite them to use the Manchester gateway and join us back in the 12th century for a tour of the attractive towns and villages mentioned in the Chronicles.  Highlights include:

  • A day following the route taken by the procession of St Winifred’s bones on their journey to Shrewsbury Abbey
  • Hugh Beringar’s home estate at Maesbury
  • A step back in time through a corner of England that remains largely unchanged since Cadfael’s time
  • A tour of the Abbey of St Peter and Saint Paul
  • An optional visit to Valle Crucis Abbey and Chirk Castle
